{Goodbye Hailey Ann}

You are my sunshine…my only sunshine…you make me happy when skies are gray. You’ll never know how much I LOVE YOU…please don’t take my sunshine away.
Hailey went over the rainbow bridge this afternoon. I am so blessed for the support of Countryside Vet Clinic and their kindness for a dog that became so ill within a week. She was diagnosed with Stage 5 leukemia 5 days ago and it took her quickly.

I am blessed to have been her Mom for 9.5 years (today) and that she picked me to run to that faithful day in October 2006. She saw me through grieving for my father, a son who left for Iraq, and so many other things. Truly a “Mama’s girl” I will miss her leaning on me, sitting under me at the computer, going for walks, playing ball, and barking at the mailman/UPS/garbage like their was an invasion. A true protector of her pack. She will be missed so deeply. My heart is broken in a kazillion pieces…but I know that no money in the world would have saved her. Goodbye my sweet girl…until we meet again! Thank you for being the best dog!

{Celebrating 30 years}

My oldest son Ian turns 30 today. I cannot believe how the years have flown by. It really does not seem possible. He is going to get me out to celebrate (it’s raining here) for Thai food. He is a busy man, working full-time and attending grad school. Always nice to be able to spend time with him.

I am still here. My Canon camera stopped working 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting to hear what is wrong. I have a feeling it will not be good news considering it is 11 years old now. I am trying to take pictures with my Smart phone the same way…but it really does not work always. I am still struggling with my immune system and was at the doctor yesterday again. Tired of not being well.

{Simply Neutrals Tuesday No. 4 – Little White Dresses}

Today, I am sharing past pieces that are dear to my heart. This little dress was one of my first altered pieces and now resides with a special art friend that purchased it on my Etsy a few years back. Ironically, she has two granddaughters now and they resemble the little girls in the photo very much.

This little altered canvas I made a few years back as well, but I just love the little Paper Whimsy girl image and all the vintage ruffles/lace on this piece.

{Spring is Spiffy}

Hello! I am so happy to be writing this and the birds are chirping, snow is melting, and sun is shining. It really was hard the past few months when “winter” really hit here. It also wasn’t much fun if I did get out using a cane in the snowy, icy, yucky mess. Isn’t it nice to go outside even if the grass isn’t green and breathe the fresh air? I’m just sharing so random things from my life the past few weeks here as most of my art gets started…but never completed at this point.

This jar in my studio area will be filled with random baby shoes. The pair you see was given to me by Terri Heinz of Artful Affirmations last December and I adore them.

My daughter moved back home 2 weeks ago, and things are more chaotic in some ways around here. I am very happy she is here even though we are on opposite schedules. She has moved into the basement, and let’s just say it was a mess down there before she even came. I am looking forward to having her here and so far we ventured to Joann Fabrics to pick out this fabric for a skirt I am trying to sew for myself.

I recently acquired my Dad’s signet ring and am so thrilled. I’ve admire it ever since I was a little girl, and was so pleased that it fits my finger so perfectly. I love heirlooms and this one has to be in my top of things inherited.
