These Simple Journal pockets are just that – simple! They can be made in a variety of sizes and are a perfect accent for your journals.
I started the project by using some double sided pattern paper. This gives the pocket a wonderful strength. Choose the size you wish for (these are about 4 inches by 4 inches once folded. You will need to cut the paper 4 inches wide by 8 inches long and score with the bone folder at 4 inches. This is folding the 8 inch strip in half.
Decorate the fronts with book text and photos and take to your sewing machine and stitch up each side. Once sides are stitched trim off access text and threads.
Decorate the fronts with buttons, word art, more tags, etc.
Inside the pocket add coordinating pieces of double sided paper and tags. Tie off the tag with some hemp cord.
Idea to note: I could have added extra embellishments like bits of lace, butterflies, verses etc.
