Sugar Lump Studios - A Sweet Smattering of Mixed Media Art

{Simply Neutrals Tuesday #38 – Spring in the Studio}

March 19, 2018

Happy Spring! I love to retreat to my studio area when I can because the mood is very soothing to me.

I am joining Wen for Simply Neutrals Tuesday. Please visit her blog and see Wen’s and see many other artists beautiful posts as well: appleapricot.blogspot.com

I never really realized how birds, birdhouses/cages, and butterflies were all over in my Expedit. I guess Michael’s Craft stores must have had a theme going the year I bought them.

I have been hearing Red Wing Blackbird’s for many weeks. They must live behind my home, because if I stand out on the deck their song is non-stop. That is always a welcome sign of spring in Michigan!

About Sugar Lump Studios

I am a dabbler. I love to create using all sorts of mediums...pattern papers, stamping, fabric, assemblage, collage, altered art, a never ending smattering of whatever strikes my fancy in whimsical moments. I find creating allows my soul to be fulfilled and love to spend hours in the studio.

    Very pretty. I don’t have any neutral spaces around here. I’m all about color and pattern. Happy Spring!

    So peaceful , so beautiful! Your studio decoration is just amazing and I can imagine how inspiring the bird songs are. We have still coldness here and snow, but I hope spring will arrive soon.

    Hello Nancy, Your studio is divine – all that peaceful pale green, and the beautiful bird and butterfly details on your boxes and pretty pieces. That tiny collage looks so sweet hanging on the white birdhouse. I LOVE your butterfly boxes, and the nest and bird theme. What a gorgeous display!
    Sending loads of love,

    Nancy no wonder you feel so soothed when you go into your studio. Everything looks so serene with all of your treasures and artworks displayed in their white shelves against the soft green in the background.
    Your bird and butterfly boxes are definitely keepers – year in and year out!
    Enjoy that magnificent bird song now as Spring arrives!
    Love and hugs,
    Suzy
