My Grandson Malcolm (26 months) loves coloring and has since he was about 15 months old. I wanted to introduce little “craft” type projects that were not to complicated. Some of it I could make up ahead, or he could be doing something else while it was drying.
Since we are near Halloween, I figure he would have fun with this super simple Spider Headband idea that I found on Pinterest. It came from: https://www.fantasticfunandlearning.com/s-is-for-spider-spider-headband-craft.html
I cut black cardstock into 2 pieces of 2.5 inche wide bands. I stapled one portion together then placed it on his head to see how big the head band needed to be. Once I knew the dimension I stapled the other portion so it was a giant circle headband.
Then I glued on random eyes using Fabric Tac and let that set up. While it was drying for a bit, I let Malcolm color on the black cardstock legs with crayons to add his own personal touch. Those were just scraps from the black cardstock sheet that I cut into strips (about 1.5 inches) and scored them randomly so they could fold and look “springy”.
I attached the legs on the headband using Fabric tac and then placed clothespins on the headband and leg while it dried. I have 4 legs on each side of headband. Once it was all set up and dry, removed the clothespins and let the silliness begin!
