Warm Summer Sun Gothic Arch Card

Sugar Lump Studios - A Sweet Smattering of Mixed Media Art
These little journal pockets I am sharing today are super easy to make and oh so lovely in a journal or a journal cover. I started with a real sturdy manilla file folder cut to various sizes. Next, I applied various pattern papers and old invoice papers. I added a small pocket strip on the front (about 1.5 inches) so I would be able to tuck tags, ephemera, photos inside.
Next, I machine stitched along the edges (leaving the pocket portion open of course) and used distress ink along the edges. I tucked digital tags and ephemera print outs, coffee stained merchandise tags, old photo scans printed out, and altered coin/seed envelopes inside. Bits of lace and buttons were glued on the front as well.
They are perfect to adorn a page or cover of a journal! Once you start making them you will find how fun they are!
Sharing from the archives today. This little shabby lace tag was created in 2018. I constructed it on a kraft colored chipboard tag, layers of lace, ephemera and collage photos, word art and buttons. I then added vintage seam binding to the top of tag.
Hope you are enjoying the last weekend in July!
