Shabby Roses Handmade Journal

April 1, 2022

Happy April!

Today, I am sharing just a few pages from this Shabby Roses Journal I created using more Sam Poole Designs Digital paper kit. I really love how beautiful her kits are and they print in lovely detail.

I incorporated coffee stained papers, laces, collage images, digital papers, tags, buttons, ephemera, and a few other embellishments to create this journal. There is plenty of space to add more photos, sentiments, and thoughts.

I am looking forward to trying to enjoy each day of this new month. Spring always flies by so quickly!

Spring Garden Junk Journal

March 1, 2022

Happy March!

I recently purchased a digital kit from Sam Poole Designs on Etsy and loved every minute working with this luscious kit. The name of it is “Spring Garden Junk Journal” and the graphics are the most perfect blend of colors, ephemera, and style.

I blended in a few coffee stained papers, tags, laces, fabrics, and pattern papers of my own inside a composition notebook that I removed the inside of. I am so pleased with the results, and look forward to creating more from this kit in the form of tags, cards, and other collage.

Junk Journal Ephemera Pockets

August 9, 2021

Today, I am sharing these little pockets I made that can be tucked into journals. I created them by using old vintage sheet music that was cut to various sizes and folded in half. Using my sewing machine I stitched the sides and bottom. A 1/2 circle was punched at the top, and little bits of ephemera and a tag tucked inside. I then decorated the front with various digital graphic printouts and rubber stamps. The pockets could then be glued into your journal. Very fun to create!

Vintage Coffee Stained Journal

May 29, 2021

I wanted to share a few pages from a coffee stained journal that was created today. The paper I used was 90 pound mixed media paper which I coffee stained in the oven. I tried to keep lots of open space and neutral colors to allow for lots of writing spots.

After drying in the oven and ironing the papers, I cut them to size and stitched the sheets together. I used old poem ephemera, coffee stained tags, stamps, old music sheets, digital tags and postcards, vintage lace, and buttons throughout the book.

On the cover I ran two strips of lace that cover the spine stitching.

I am very happy with how “neutral” it turned out!

Hope you are enjoy this Memorial Weekend!
